This outfit was made for a demonstration in which we were re-creating what work in a 16th Century tailor's shop might have felt like. Yes, that is a pocket.
This outfit was made for a demonstration in which we were re-creating what work in a 16th Century tailor's shop might have felt like. We used pre-dawn light to cut and wax sewing threads and worked until it was too dark to see.
This is a 16th Century men's doublet that was an attempt to make as accurate a historial piece as possible. It has a wool shell, hand embroidered with silk thread, a linen interling and a silk lining. All seams were sewn by hand, and the silk binding was applied by hand.
