Moot Minutes

16 November 2003

Officers:

Seneschal: Donations collected for the feast steward of the Pytt's "Conquistador's Folly" event have been returned. She didn't want to take the gift. Those who donated money to this cause will be refunded their contribution.

Treasurer: There will be a Financial Committee Meeting following Moot this evening.

Campi: This week at Campi there will be a garb workshop. Campi would accept help from the barony in any form: donation of fabric, display of garb styles, hands-on assistance, etc.

Chronicler: articles and artwork due in a week and a half for the next Runestaff.

MoAS: The first installment of Philosophy Night was last week after Moot. It was a good discussion but got off-course several times. Natalya would like to see this activity continued for various topics. Vasilla volunteered to host the next Philosophy Night. Her topic is: The roles of men and women in the Middle Ages compared to the roles of men and women in the SCA.

Baronage:

Demo Coordinator: Jane went to the spinning demo for the 4H group. Jane related to Katalina that the timeframe for teaching was very limited, but each participant was able to walk away with 24 inches of wool they'd spun themselves.

Music: will be held this Thursday at Volkmar and Isadora's house at 7:30 pm. Gwyneth will not be there, but practice is encouraged. Thursday practices will continue to be held weekly until Kris Kinder.

Scribes: will be held immediately following Moot this evening.

Miscellaneous: There will be several meetings being held at Kris Kinder and 12th Night so Officers, Grants, and Peers be alert for meetings that you may want to attend.

Following Moot we welcomed Ilyana and her family (husband, Trevor, and their three daughters). They are newly relocated to Mag Mor from Idaho. Ilyana has been in the SCA for 11 years and has lots of experience. Trevor's squire brother will be the next king in their prior baliwick. Welcome again to Mag Mor!!!

Additional Stuff from the Financial Committee: it was decided that a merger of the 2 Yule Court bids would be used for the upcoming Yule Court. Campi will be hosting this season's Yule Court on Jan. 24th, 2004. The daytime activities will be held at the Lincoln Women's Center and will include all the traditional Yule Court activities (gift exchange, fighting, A&S display, Bardic Competition, Pot-Luck feast, court, auction, etc.) along with classes, particularly dance classes. The evening will be hosted at the Ball Room in the UNL City Union following the Pot-Luck feast. The change in venue for the daytime activities will reduce the need to travel from one building to another more than once. Several individuals have volunteered to be shuttle service for members of Campi who need rides. Sabi is in the role of mentor for the Campi autocrating staff. Additional details will be put on this website as they are solidified.
