Winter War Maneuvers
Discussion on whether Scarlett Keep wishes to continue hosting Winter War Maneuvers. It was determined that they do. Discussion on the pros and cons of Cook Pavilion vs. Lancaster Event Center. It was determined that Keep will attempt to reserve Cook Pavilion, M&N Building and 100 parking spaces. If Keep is pre-empted for the January 21, 2006 date by another organization, then we will keep the date with Lancaster Event Center which is currently reserved for January 21, 2006. We should have the University's decision sometime in May.
Keep will need to borrow baronial funds to show a balance in their student account that is large enough to cover the cost of Cook Pavilion. The Financial Committee will include that on their agenda immediately following this Moot.
Lilies Preparations
Vasilla will again be facing off with Winnifred for a grand pillow fight. Ladies, get your heraldic pillow weapons ready!
Need people to sign up for Troll shifts(Sabi is coordinator of troll shifts), donations of food/food prep for the party (talk to Leofwyna), donations of basic alcohols for the party (give to Callaghan). Sashatec is coordinating the party efforts so if you have fun ideas for party games, let him know. The party will be held in Camp Mag Mor proper - we'll want to keep this in mind when we initially set up camp.
Rosa has volunteered to be Camp Mom.
Etienette would love to have news articles about things that happen at Lilies and other events.
James Arthur Vineyards Ren Faire Demo
Jim Ballard spoke about our efforts for this year's fair. He provided a donation check for last year's participation. He mentioned the possibility of extending the Fair to 2 days in the future if we think we can do it. He is aware of the Nebraska Ren Faire and the timing issue on that as well as the manpower issues. We'll play this by ear.
We will be creating a Ren Faire poster in exchange for use of the Vineyard for a small event in the future.
Katalina needs folks to sign up and let her know what demos they will be doing and what their time commitment will be for the Fair.
Archery set up will occur Friday night (May 20) from about 6:30 p.m. until done. Volunteers to help haul targets and equipment will be needed.
Set up must be completed by 11 a.m. Saturday (May 21).
Scarlett Keep Thanks
A thank you note was read and received from the members of Scarlett Keep in appreciation of Mag Mor's assistance with the 2005 Winter War Maneuevers. This relic can be viewed by clicking here. This card was from a pack of cards purchased in England. It has traveled extensively and has been lost and found several times. Study time was eschewed in order to be signed by certain Keep members. Hillary assures us that the only reason it still survives is that it did not find its way underneath her bed. If this had occurred, it's life would have been forfeit. Each Keep member has signed it. Hillary also indicated that left-handed calligraphy has special challenges when inking slick paper products.
Scarlett Keep Recruitment
Scarlett Keep would like to make a fresh recruitment push. It was suggested that the barony could hold a fighter practice on the Green Space near the City Campus Union. They will be checking with the authorities to make sure they can do so without reprocussions. They are considering putting out flyers that will advertise the practice. They'd like to do this in 2 weeks and then also the first week back to classes in the Fall. The list field would be a good thing to have on hand for these practices.
Big Red Welcome is still undetermined, but Keep is attempting to get an area with green space in order to allow some fighting demos.
Miscellaneous
Natalie has a new pavilion but no poles or stakes. If you can assist with her acquisition of these items, please contact her or Hillary.
Scribes will be meeting at 7 p.m. this Thursday (April 21) at Isabeau & Carlos' house.
