Moot Minutes
1 June 2004
Officers:
Chronicler: June Runestaffs are now available. The next deadline for
articles and artwork is June 24.
MoAS:
- Baronial A&S Championship - Vasilla asked if we could check into feasibility
of moving the date as July 17 conflicts with Raid or Trade in Coeur d'Ennui.
Sashatec with do some checking with Bran and Sabi about moving it to the following
Saturday (July 24).
- Does anyone know if Sabi is entering the Champions A&S Tourney at Lilies?
Entrants do not have to be present. Sashatec will check with Sabi on this
as well.
Treasurer:
- We've received $265 in donations for the Lilies Tent. The cost was $410.
Donations can be made at Moot site now.
- Passed the hat for donations for Moot site
- Vasilla is taking donations for a floral arrangement from the barony for
Eleanor Margaret's funeral on Saturday.
- The money received so far from JAV has been deposited. Natalya sold one
woodcut print and gave the $2 to Kat for the treasury
- Directories are available for $1 each
- We will be giving a gift of money to the Barony of Lonely Tower for their
assistance with JAV. The amount will be determined at the next Financial Committee
Meeting. Meeting time will be determined in near future.
Music: There will be no music practice until after Lilies War.
Demo Coordinator:
- Wedding demo - after discussion it was determined that we will not be participating
in the June 26 wedding demo. Katalina will direct the bride to the Lincoln
Fencing Club as a possible alternative.
- JAV - Katalina is looking for input about the James Arthur demo this year.
What worked? What didn't work? What would you like to see done differently?
etc. She is putting together a report to present to Jim Ballard later this
fall which will include some ideas on how we can help him to make this Festival
bigger and better for next year. Email or write to Katalina or Their Excellencies
with any thoughts, suggestions or comments about JAV.
Pursuivant: Sent around sign up sheet for heraldic help for Lilies War.
See Morag to volunteer an hour or 2 of your time. Do not need to be a trained
book or voice herald to enjoy this activity.
Baronage:
- The Roundtable event was a good one, per Calien's report to Vasilla this
morning. Things to be aware of: the tick population is intense at the Lilies
site this year. (per Angelo: Danderuff shampoo kills ticks...consider Head
and Shoulders for your shampoo for Lilies week). There will be no woods battles
at Lilies this year. The archers had fun and Mag Mor did not come in last!
- Mag Mor tabards are needed for some of the archers and possibly for the
fighters. Would we like to have a Mag Mor tabard sweatshop next week? Concensus
was yes. Bring your sewing machines, black and yellow thread, ironing boards
and any black or yellow broadcloth that you would like to donate to the cause.
Jane will help us to get the assembly line up and running. Sashatec will put
the bull's head pattern on line for us this week. Also, Vasilla has additional
archer hoods available that she will bring to Lilies for the archers if they
want them for the Anvil of Virtue shoot.
Marshall: Location of Fighter Practice is up in the air. Contact Callaghan
this evening or tomorrow before going to fighter practice to find out if it's
in Easterday Park or Bethany Park. There were some new people at Fighter Practice
last week.
Miscellaneous: No Moot the week of Lilies (June 15). But we will have
a Moot on June 22 and an A&S night on June 29. We anticipate starting personal
projects for the largesse challenge at the A&S night on the 29th.
