Officers reports
Seneschal:
- Email read from Lord Ashikaga Sanenori and Lady Ashikaga Aneko. Lady Dianna de Neushol is wishing to sell Lord Istavan’s Magyar Sport Horse Bow. It is a 55” strung bow with a 50” spring. Designed for draws of 26”-32”. Has a 30# pull. It reails for $449.99 but Lady Dianna is asking $250. I have the contact information if you are interest. If no one replies then it will go on eBay.
- Meeting location was discussed. We can not meet at Bennett Martin for any July meetings or the 4th Wednesdays of Aug, Sept and Oct.
- For the July meetings (7/18, 7/25) we will be meeting at St. Marks on Campus located on 13th and R streets.
- For 8/22, 8/26 and 10/24 we will be meeting at Walt Library located 6701 South 14th Street.
- Get your award recommendations in for both Baronial and Kingdom awards
A&S:
- July 18 will be advance Lucet cord making. Bring 2 different color yarns. A crochet yarn #3 size works well. If you do not have a lucet there will be some there to purchase for $10. Also bring scissors.
- Other A&S nights will be August 1, 15 and 29. Making of Loan garb will be done.
- Kingdom A&S is July 14.
- Baronial A&S will be happening in October,
Chronicler:
- Deadline for the next issue is July 28.
- Moving the delivery of the Runestaff to electronic means has saved the Barony a bundle. The Runestaff use to cost the Barony over $100 a month. Now it cost around $30 a month.
- Some printed copies of the Runestaff will be given to the Chatelaine every month to pass out to interested people.
- A new directory will be printed in October to be handed out at Baronial A&S. If you have a change you can either hand deliver the changed to Master Owain or Lady Aibhilin or email them at chronicler@magmor.net.
Treasurer:
- Quarterly report was given to the Seneschal to sign.
Marshal:
- Fighter Practice continues on Tuesday evenings but the start time has been moved to 7pm.
- Sunday practices are cancelled until it gets a bit cooler. (editor’s note: we don’t want wilted fighters)
- Location is still Woods Park at 33rd and L Street.
- We have been having any where from 4-12 fighters at practice.
Archery Marshal:
- Archery practice continues on Wednesday evenings starting about 8:30pm at the Prairie Bowman indoor range on 14th street between L and M.
- Archers decided not to move outdoors for Wednesday evening practices due to having to use lights and attracting bugs.
- Some archers do meet on the weekend at the public outdoor range on North 48th, north of Superior.
- We have been having any where from 4-10 archers at practice every week.
Guilds:
- Scribes: Meeting 7/27, 8/10, 8/17 and 9/21 at 7:30pm. Carlos and Isabeau’s apartment. Working on both Kingdom and Baronial preprints.
- Music:
Meeting tentatively 7/19 at 7pm. Volkmar and Isadora’s house.
Interest Groups:
- Middle Eastern Drumming: Meeting at Fighter Practice. Leofwyna will be there to teach 7/24, 8/7 and 8/21. She can attend every other Tuesday. Drummers are meeting on the off Tuesdays at fighter practice to practice together.
- Brewers: Are not currently meeting regularly. Call Isabeau if you are interested.
Baronage report:
- On Aug. 5 TE Callaghan and Calien will be hosting a Revel at James Arthur Vineyards. The Revel will be from noon to 6pm
- The Revel will include fighting, archery, frog flinging (Sprang), a pot-luck dinner and court.
miscellaneous:
- Cattle Raids will be Aug. 24-26.
- Lady Eleanor Drayeson is the autocrat.
- Viljalhmer Half Troll, Lord Arne and HE Callaghan are in charge of site set-up.
- Lady Etienette is taking care of troll.
- HL Osrik has many melee scenarios planned.
- Master Owain and HL Robert have many cool archery shoots planned. Lord Arthur has the championship shoot all planned.
- Lord Carlos, Kathrine, Katrine and Patrick are taking care of the Inn.
- Feast is being planned by Lady Leofwyna. The menu is all set up. Watch for pre-cooks>
- Hall steward is Countess Isadora
- Master Jean Michel is taking care of the spiff prizes for the fighter.
- Many A&S activities are being planned by HL Natalya. Such as Show & tell (as done at 12th Night this past year), Your earliest Garb contest, a Rat on Your Neighbor contest and a contest for that A&S project that isn’t done and probably never will be.
- HE Vasilla has many things planned for the children through the day.
- Lady Emelye has a number of Bardic compititions planned.
- There will be heraldic cries done through out the day. John Richard Beauchamp is in charge of these cries.
- Feast will be for 200. This number includes head table.
- Both TRM and TRH will be in attendance.
- Please if you do not already of a job to do during Cattle Raids speak to one of these people and volunteer to help them. This event can not be pulled off unless we all pitch in and help
- Coronation on September 8, 2007.
- We have been ask by the Barony of Lonely Tower to help in any way we can with this event.
- The event is being hosted by the Barony of Lonely Tower but will be held within the borders of the Barony of Mag Mor at Lincoln’s Scottish Rite Temple.
- HE Oanora is their Autocrat with Lord Dwolm as her Co-Autocrat. Lady Suzanne de la Ferte is the Feast Steward and HE Gwyneth as the the Co-feast Steward.
- Places we can help: set-up crew, clean-up crew, servers, and the Inn.
- The Inn will be hosted by Scarlett Keep with HE Calien advising.
- Viljalhmer Half Troll will be in charge of the parking lot.
- Gyda has volunteered to be the crash space coordinator. please if you have space in your abode to house crashers let her know.
- Items are needed for a raffle that will be held at the event to help fray the cost of the event. The Temple has greatly increased their prices.
- Cost for the event will be $9 site fee with minors 6-14 $5. Those 5 and under will be free. Feast will be $9 for everyone.
- We will be hosting a post revel. We have the Woman’s Club from 9pm Saturday night to Noon Sunday. Cost for that would be $100. We have been asked to set up chairs when we do our clean up.
- A host for the Woman’s club is needed.
- Arne let everyone know that Menard’s is having a sale on their canning jars. The sale is for wide-mouth and narrow. Both pint and quart sizes available. Sale ends July 15th.
