- Riverside Park near Milford, NE. Possible site for Crown Tourney 2008. Mistress Isadora, Mistress Gwyneth and Lady Sabi checked out the camp site. It has LOTS of space. It would not only work for Crown but for Cattle Raids.
- $1,500 for three days, cleaning deposit of $200
- Discrete alcohol: no sales, collect and dispose of all empty containers
- No pets on site.
- Owner is horse owner so can add equestrian to Cattle Raids if interested.
- Smokers must collect & dispose of their debris.
- Above ground fires only, unless in designated fire rings. Several permanent fire pits available.
- Visitor Center: 4 dorm rooms, each with 10 bunks, one love seat, two showers, two toilets, and two sinks, one “community room” with lots of chairs/seating, a couple of tables, and basic kitchen equipment.
- Two somewhat primitive cabins: One has air conditioning; the other has a sink & running water, each has 6 bunks.
- Feast Hall: The kitchen is wonderful….just ask Gwyneth for details. 3 stoves, a walk in frig, a commercial dish washer, access to all of the equipment /dishes /trays /carts /mixer /meat slicer, etc, etc.
- Lots of Open Space: There’s lots of open, level space, some of it shaded, for camping. Open areas are kept mowed.
- Open air Tabernacle: Big – the central area of this building is our “in case of inclement weather” list area… and it would still provide quite a bit of viewing area around it. The covers for the screened windows on three sides of the building open up and would allow people to watch from outside. Opening the window covers requires three tall, strong types and nails to act as pins.
- Kids' areas: There’s a playground and an former chapel building that has ping pong tables, fuss ball table and pool table. We might need to furnish our own ping pong paddles and balls. The playground is in a central location north and a bit east of the tabernacle; probably in line of site from the open area where the tourney field would ideally be. The chapel is a bit farther north…kids using it should be supervised – if we choose to use it. Note: there are other buildings on site that we won’t be using – we may need to mark them as off limits to the kids – and adults!
- Parking: Parking would work well east of the buildings on either the north or south side of drive way -- or even both sides, if that much space is needed.
- Archery: Archery is a definite possibility on site. Archers should look the site over and think about where archery would best be located for future reference.
- Horses: The site owner is a horse owner and horse lover. She is very positive and very interested in equestrian activities. Check with Calontir’s equestrians to see what their site requirements are. This site has definite potential for them.
