Thank you to HL Murdoch and Lady Emelye for having put their names in and a thank you to Lord Dwolm and Lady Aibhilin for putting their names in and going through the interview process. Come and join the Barony in Lonely Tower on May 10th for the Investiture of our new Baronage.
We will be having Moot April 30th to finalize plans for Crown and to work on JAV.
Crown: How to get involved in Crown Tourney....
A list of the many and various tasks that need to be done to make this
Crown Tourney a kick-ass event that makes everyone attending clamor to come
to all Mag Mor events!
The attached list is rather long, partly because it's broken down into detail for logistics (what's needs to be set up where, when it should be moved, etc.) There's some overlap between logistics and activity sign-up areas, but, PLEASE read it though and sign-up for all you can. The more you're doing, the faster the time will fly while you're having a blast hosting the Kingdom.
Also, Gywneth is planning pre-cooks for Sat., April 19 starting at noon and Sun., April 27 at 1:00 p.m. I'm guessing they are at her house. Please come lend a hand!
- Does anyone have or have access to a chainsaw or some other
log-sawing tool? We have permission to saw downed wood for the bardic
bonfire. If a saw, an operator, an assistant or two, and a pick up could be
teamed up, we would have all of the firewood we'd need for the bonfire. If
not, we will need to ask for/buy wood and transport it to site. I don't
really want to buy and transport wood to a wooded site, and spending gas $
to bring it to site seems more than a little inefficient.
- How many tables does the barony own? If we have less than 12,
then we'll need to borrow personal tables. Can someone transport the
baronial tables [and possibly personal tables] to site?
- Sunshades... it looks like we will need one large sunshade (list
table, seating for heralds announcing the tourney) and two small sunshades
(waterbearers and MoC). Who has sunshades that they'd be willing to bring
and set up?
- Water coolers... for list table area and for the MoC area....
whose can we borrow? Some will be used for Gatorade, some for water.
- Auction items -- ask your friends and neighbors, check your
storage areas. I'll bet you have something you can donate!
- Tiki torches to identify/light the path to the bonfire.... a very
helpful thing if anyone has some??? They'd likely be lighted after feast
and for an unknown length of time through the night. That said, the world
will not stop if tiki torches are not to be had for this use.
- Push brooms - we'll need 3 or 4 of these to make clean up of the
tabernacle, game/meeting hall, and the shower house efficient.
- We still need/would like to have someone to decorate the tables
for feast, including head table. We aren't going to fuss with lots of
fabric draping or other wall decorations, but something on the tables would
be nice. Ideas? Volunteer?
- Fire lovers...I know there are a few in the barony...would
someone like to be in charge of the fireplace in the feast hall? We have
permission to have a fire there as well as in the permanent fire ring (or a
self-contained, above-ground fire container) for the bardic bonfire. Check
with Viljalhmer, you'd like to help with the bonfire.
- Containers/bags for leftovers - if we don't completely demolish
the feast, there will be leftovers. If you have any containers that can be
used to store/transport left overs, please let Gwyneth know and probably
bring them to the event. – Isadora
