Camping is one of the easiest ways to achieve a medieval atmosphere in a modern world. If you locate the right spot, you can avoid modern architecture, transportation and sometimes even noise pollution. One of my favorite sites still remains the site for the Lilies War. It's a very large camp with a lake and lots of trees, tucked away from the city limits. With no electricity on site and only a couple of permanent shelters, this is a great site to achieve that medieval feel. All you need is a pavillion and medieval camp gear and the stage is set. Here are some pictures of the Lilies War campsite that we set up each year.
